VERSION INFORMATION
-----------------------------------------

This readme file corresponds to The Seasons Mod v1.9.2 for Minecraft 1.5.2. It is not to be edited, deleted, or replaced
in part or in whole, and is to be distributed with all copies of The Seasons Mod v1.9.2 for 1.5.2.

The Seasons Mod v1.9.2 is for Minecraft 1.5.2, and should support multi-player game-play, both from a client and from a
dedicated server. All clients must have the mod in order to connect to a server that uses it.

The codename for The Seasons Mod v1.9.2 is "Bitterness". v1.9.1, "Sorrow," and now v1.9.2, "Bitterness," are named as
they are because they are leading up to versions with massive changes. These coming versions are still far from ready,
and will follow a pattern in naming.

HOW TO INSTALL
-----------------------------------------

To install this mod, install the required version of Forge, then put the mod's files into the Minecraft jar. If this
is not possible, then putting this mod into the mods folder as a .jar works, but incompletely. Do not place
this mod as a zip folder into the mods folder. The two installation methods each have their own pros and cons, as well
as incompatibilities. Installing into the jar has the best results, but cannot be done properly on MCPC+ servers.
To help MCPC+ servers as much as possible, an alternate installer is included in the mod, which is only available on
dedicated servers. The option to install using this is in the primary config file. If using this alternate installer,
the mod must still be in the mods folder as a .jar.

In the event that the mod is incorrectly installed by being placed into the mods folder as a zip or by being
overwritten in the Minecraft jar, the mod will not stop Minecraft from loading and will do it's best to continue.
This will usually lead to unwanted results.

MODIFICATION SUPPORT
-----------------------------------------

The official website for this mod is http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1482770- . Downloads from websites other than
http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1482770- are unsupported, as they may have changes to them.

Introduced in v1.7 and overhauled in v1.9.1, the mod will check for updates if allowed. The update check will run when
Minecraft is started and every two hours afterwords or when the server is running, whichever is later. If there is an
update available, it will then alert/remind the user.
If the version being used had too many errors and was recalled after downloading, an ad-free link will be given. If
the update notification system finds the version information about the recall while Minecraft is starting, it will
force-crash the game as soon as it safely can. If the information was found on a later check, the updater will simply
alert the user with an urgent message, letting the user update as soon as possible.
The update notification works between both multiple versions of both the mod and Minecraft, allowing it to tell the user
when it is available for newer Minecraft versions or when a newer build is available for the same version of Minecraft.

All instructions on installation and usage is at http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1482770- . In the event that
English is not a language you are fluent in, you may send The_WeatherPony a private message on www.minecraftforum.net
in your language, or use a translator to translate and post in the mod's thread, as printed above. The_WeatherPony will
do his best to communicate with you in your language if you private message him in that language.

In no case is there to be a download mirror for the mod, nor provide the mod other than as provided at
http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1482770- by The_WeatherPony, the programmer producing this mod.

UPGRADING WORLDS FROM A PREVIOUS VERSION
-----------------------------------------

To upgrade a world from a version before v1.6, including the entire v2 series, delete the Seasons.dat file for the
world before loading with this version. Failure to do so will cause unwanted effects to arise within that world.
To upgrade a world from a v1.6, a v1.7, or v1.9, simply play the world with v1.9.1. All new save data will be written
as needed with the default settings. While the new data is written, however, it is recommended to delete the settings
files, known as SeasonsData.dat, so that the new recommended settings can be applied if it was not saved by v1.7.3 or
newer, or edited to have the same effect. This is not required, however.
If using Mystcraft, it is now safe to remove any directories/folders that you added to allow compatibility. This mod
now looks to the correct location.

SeasonsData.dat is located in the world's and it's dimensions' folders. For servers, the world's folder is in the
server's directory. For clients, the world's folder is in the saves folder inside the Minecraft directory.

Achievements
-----------------------------------------
New as of v1.8, there is an achievement page with some achievements. Some achievements may be trickier than others
to acquire. Some achievements can be obtained without The Seasons Mod installed on the connected server, and some
achievements cannot be obtained with The Seasons Mod alone. Please do not reveal how to get these achievements.

Due to a problem with Forge, the achievements will reset every time the game is loaded. This is known, and The Seasons
Mod will be implementing it's own way to keep track of obtained achievements, when the code is completed for a future
release.

EDITING MOD SETTINGS
-----------------------------------------

New as of v1.8, there is a config file at <Minecraft directory>/config/Seasons/Settings.cfg. This file offers changes
to basic features that normally come standard with mods, such as changing ID numbers and such. It is meant to be self
explanatory. It can be edited using a normal text editor.

In that same folder is a file named "Seasons.wpvd" which is not meant to be edited or viewed. It contains version
information and is overwritten frequently by this mod.

EDITING WORLD SETTINGS
-----------------------------------------

To edit settings for a world on a by-dimension basis, open the file SeasonsData.dat in the world's dimension's folder
with an NBT editor. The NBTs are all found in a sub-NBT, and are as follows. Please understand that some have hidden

UPDATES TO THE MODIFICATION
-----------------------------------------

Updates will be made to this mod, and will be found at http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1482770- . New as of v1.7

SEMI-LEGAL NOTICE
-----------------------------------------

This mod is just that: a mod. Minecraft's Terms of Service say, as copied on the thirty-first of October, 2012:

If you've bought the game, you may play around with it and modify it. We'd appreciate it if you didn't
use this for griefing, though, and remember not to distribute the changed versions of our software.
Basically, mods (or plugins, or tools) are cool (you can distribute those), hacked versions of the
Minecraft client or server are not (you can't distribute those).

Any tools you write for the game from scratch belongs to you. Other than commercial use (unless
specifically authorized by us in our brand and assets usage guidelines - for instance you are allowed
to put ads on your YouTube videos containing Minecraft footage), you're free to do whatever you want
with screenshots and videos of the game, but don't just rip art resources and pass them around, that's
no fun. Plugins for the game also belong to you and you can do whatever you want with them, as long as
you don't sell them for money. We reserve the final say regarding what constitutes a tool/plugin and
      what doesn't.

This modification entails only the new content that it adds to Minecraft. As such, this mod is not distributed with the
rest of Minecraft, and only the edited .class files are distributed with this modification.

The Terms of Service for this mod are the same as the Terms of Service for Minecraft, wherever applicable.
